The Food For Folk Project

FOOD THAT NOURISHES BOTH PERSON AND PLACE

The Food For Folk Project links together small farmers with area food banks and soup kitchens. By doing so, we hope to meet the challenges

of poverty not with "mere charity," but rather from a social justice perspective which addresses the root problems of poverty and hunger. The objective is to support the hungry with nourishing, organic food, while at the same time sustaining the farmers who grow the food with a living wage. Thus breaking the cycle that exists between poverty and malnourishment.

Sharing the Bounty:

For five years now, Ploughshare Organic Farm has hosted The Food for Folk Project. This project allows low income folks from our community to receive fresh organic vegetables from our farm on a weekly basis throughout the growing season.

This year we are excited to be partnering with the Emergency Foodshelf Network (EFN).  Click on the link below to find out additional information on how you can support foodshelves and other organizations working with families in need while at the same time supporting Ploughshare Farm.
